Every Journey Has a Story
The Journey Collection was born from the belief that the right words can bring comfort, hope, and connection during life’s most meaningful moments
Why we created The Journey Collection
Two Communication Experts. One Shared Mission.
For decades, we've each spent our careers helping people communicate.
One as an Emmy Award-winning journalist, storyteller, and healthcare communication strategist.
The other as an Emmy Award-winning media executive, leading some of the nation's most respected media organizations and shaping how millions of people receive information.
Then life changed.
One of us became a patient.
Both of us witnessed the same problem.
When people face cancer, grief, mental health challenges, or life's unexpected moments, the people who love them often become silent—not because they don't care, but because they're afraid of saying the wrong thing.
That's why we created The Journey Collection.
Communication changes experiences.
The right words can comfort.
The right message can create connection.
The simple act of reaching out can remind someone they are not alone.
Everything we create begins with that belief.
Princell Hair - Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Every founder brings a different story. Ours evolved into a shared mission: helping people find the words that matter most.
For more than twenty-five years, Princell has led some of the nation's most respected media organizations, including CNN, NBC Sports, Allen Media Broadcasting, and Black News Channel. Throughout his career, one principle has remained constant: communication shapes how people experience life's most important moments.
As a leader, he has helped organizations navigate periods of transformation, build meaningful connections with audiences, and tell stories that inform, inspire, and unite. Today, he brings that same passion to The Journey Collection.
Beyond his professional career, Princell is committed to serving organizations that invest in the next generation of leaders and communicators. He serves as a Southeast Regional Trustee of Boys & Girls Clubs of America and on the Advisory Board of the Dan Patrick School of Sportscasting at Full Sail University, where he helps mentor future storytellers and media professionals.
Whether leading national media organizations, mentoring future communicators, or creating meaningful ways for people to connect, Princell believes the right words have the power to inform, encourage, and change lives. That belief is at the heart of The Journey Collection.
Loriana Hernández-Aldama - Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer
Different journeys. Shared Purpose.
We believe communication has the power to comfort, encourage, celebrate and heal. Every card we create is designed to help people find the words that matter most, reminding those we love that they are never alone.
For the Journey You Didn’t Plan.
As an Emmy Award-winning journalist, Loriana Hernández-Aldama spent more than two decades telling other people's stories. She built a career asking thoughtful questions, finding the right words, and helping millions navigate some of life's most important moments through television and healthcare journalism.
Then one day...
She became the story.
A diagnosis of AML leukemia led to a year-long hospitalization at Johns Hopkins, a bone marrow transplant, and years later, a second diagnosis of breast cancer. During that journey, viewers who didn’t know her well reached out but Loriana experienced something she never expected from many of those closest to her.
Silence.
Family, friends, and colleagues wanted to help—but many disappeared because they simply didn't know what to say.
Others worried about saying the wrong thing. As someone whose life's work was communication, she found herself teaching people how to communicate with someone facing unimaginable circumstances.
That experience changed everything.
Today, Loriana travels the world as a keynote speaker, journalist, and healthcare communication strategist, helping healthcare organizations improve the patient experience by bringing the human voice into medicine. She believes that communication isn't simply a soft skill—it can shape how people experience illness, grief, healing, and hope.
The Journey Collection was born from that belief.
Every card was created to help people find words when they matter most—for the diagnosis no one expected, the difficult conversation no one rehearsed, and the journey no one planned.
Because sometimes the most meaningful gift isn't knowing exactly what to say.
It's refusing to say nothing at all.
Helping people find words when they matter most.
For the journey you didn't plan.
